Jewellery Care

A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your AZYRA pieces looking as beautiful as the day you received them.

The golden rule

Last on, first off. Put your jewellery on after applying makeup, perfume, lotion and hairspray — and take it off before bathing, swimming, working out or sleeping. This keeps chemicals, sweat and moisture away from your pieces.

Care by material

Gold

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Clean occasionally with lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap, then pat dry. Avoid chlorine and harsh cleaners, which can dull the finish.

Diamond

Soak briefly in warm water with a little mild soap, brush gently with a soft toothbrush behind the stone, rinse and dry. Oils from skin and lotion are what dull a diamond's sparkle.

Silver

Silver naturally tarnishes with air and moisture. Polish with a dedicated silver cloth, store in an anti-tarnish pouch, and keep away from humidity. Wearing it often actually helps prevent tarnish.

Gemstones

Coloured stones vary in hardness — clean gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, heat and chemicals, especially for softer or treated stones.

Pearls

Pearls are delicate and porous. Wipe with a soft damp cloth after wearing, never soak them, and keep away from perfume and acids. Store flat, separately from harder pieces.

Plated & artificial

Keep completely dry and away from perfume and sweat to preserve the plating. Wipe with a dry cloth only and store in a sealed pouch when not in use.

Gentle cleaning at home

PrepareMix lukewarm water with a drop of mild, non-detergent soap in a small bowl.

Soak brieflyLet sturdy gold or diamond pieces sit for a few minutes. Skip soaking for pearls, soft gemstones and plated jewellery.

Brush softlyUse a soft toothbrush to reach behind stones and settings. Never scrub.

Rinse & dryRinse in clean water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth before storing.

Storage

  • Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box so they don't scratch one another.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Use anti-tarnish strips or pouches for silver.
  • Fasten clasps and lay chains flat to prevent tangling and kinks.
